Getting to the Finish Line

Have you ever have that feeling of wanting to beat yourself for silly mistakes you make? I was going home today, after some shopping, a visit to the supermarket and buying some dinner.....

well as you can imagine my hands were laden with paper bags and stuff, so I thought of a brilliant idea to combine all the different bags and placed a cup of drink in a paper bag where I had some clothes and a pair of shoes, I took special care not to spill the drink, hmm guess I used so much of my concentration trying to do that when I reached home I just threw the bags on the sofa!

Well....... Intelligent ppl like you all should have guessed what happened! Eeeks! MY Drink!!!! The best is that I forgot about it and went to my room and settle some things before going to try to unpack my stuff and to my horror discovered this horrible mistake! The drink spilled on the floor, soaked the paper bag, I nearly had a pair of root beer shoes and top, sigh!

I spent a good 15 mins cleaning up the kitchen and the living room, sigh! Imagine I spent so much effort earlier on trying to protect the drink and just a lapse of concentration can cause all this unpleasant stuff to happen......

Well, at least it prompted me something, that in life isn't it so true that we can spent 90% of the time being cautious, or trying to build our reputation, but one lapse of judgment or concentration can cost us the whole project or reputation we have been working on so so long. Once again felt the Lord reminding me of how important it is to keep being sharp to the HS, to be consciously in His presence, that the END is not the END till you reach the finishing line, if you get complacent just before you reach the finishing line, someone may still overtake you?

Complacency sometimes can become the worst pit fall of life.. It is one thing to be contented but another to be complacent.. It is such a natural thing that everyone easily fall into. But let us make up our mind today to erase complacency from our lives, do not lose the things you have been working for so hard in the life to a moment of folly or reckless actions!

Lastly let me leave you with this thought...Is your life where you want it to be now? If not maybe you should evaluate did your own complacency about life stuck you here?
