Had a interesting topic with some of my friends today, have come to a realization that indeed we are all unique and special in our little ways, just like nobody has the same thumb prints, God has made us an unique creation and everyday we have fresh revelation abt Him and even the friends around us.
Just tonight I discovered that one of my friends is a no ruler, no pencil user......... hmm it bloggers my mind of how one can survive through life without the use of rulers to draw lines and pencil to draft things. The best thing is that she is living perfectly fine and happy at the fact that she only uses ruler to read lines of words...
But then again I think it really takes a big step to decide to be a NON ruler, pencil user... you see... first of all:
1. A ruler enables you to draw straight lines, form the shape and structure.
Ruler according to the Oxford dictionary is a straight strip or cylinder of wood, metal used to draw lines or measure distance....
Imagine a life without ruler means no straight lines, no borders. That's also having the freedom and not being restricted to always draw the lines to form the box? Sometimes I think why not throw away the ruler of our life once in a while, dun let the ruler always set a limit to where the lines can be drawn? Let our creativity and imagination run free..... Let us be free of the past and traditions we may have in our lives, things that are holding us back, thoughts that are telling us we cannot make it or no one had done it before, you cannot breakthrough?
2. Pencil - A pencil allows you to draw freely and when you make a mistake, you can always erase it away and draw again...... This sound like a perfect scenario to a lot of us isn't it, if only we can all erase our mistakes away? But that wouldn't fulfill His purpose for us? We are not to live a life without challenges but we are to be overcomers of challenges, what is faith when it is not tested? Although a pencil sounds like a dream but it also is represent a non- commitment life... Cos a pen is used, you know you cannot erase it off without a trace... thus you will consider and think first before making reckless decisions. We need to know that we cannot lead a pencil life always and expect always to be making mistakes and simply just trying to erase it away after that...... You rub too much on the same place, the paper will also get torn?
All in all, we should lead a balanced life, isn't it? We cannot do totally without a ruler, cos that will take away the basic discipline of our life, but neither can we just simply be a pencil person who thinks that mistakes can always be erased and do not bother to improve and commit their lives to make decisions and bear the consequences?
In conclusion, it is better to have a pencil case; with a ruler, pen, pencil, highlighter... so different situations call for different stationery to be used, if we stubbornly refuse to be ready with all these, then there is only a limit to our potential that we can achieve in Him. So stock up your pencil case today, be ready and open for all that is ahead of you!

Totally agree on We cannot do totally without a ruler, cos that will take away the basic discipline of our life, but neither can we just simply be a pencil person who thinks that mistakes can always be erased and do not bother to improve and commit their lives to make decisions and bear the consequences?...
God is our Ruler and sitting on the throne of our hearts. Without Him, I believe my life will really be in a mega mess... It is also Jesus who builds our character through our commitment to Him and nothing beats being led by the Holy Spirit in our lives... Amen! =)
